Publisher Description
the UK Border Force (Home Office) requires that every non scheduled aircraft visiting the UK declare themselves/crew/passengers before entering. The usual way of doing this is a pre-notification form called a General Aviation report. Conventionally this is completed by hand and faxed to a local customs or immigration office. For travel to and from the Channel Isles and Ireland Police should be notified as well. This app allows the pilot in command(who is liable to complete such documentation) to compose and send the required information in a fraction of the time the paper method takes and send it to all agencies in one go. Details of passengers, ther passports and addresses can be stored so it is only a button press to enter them onthe form. Origin and destinations are selected from drop down lists thus eliminating the possibility of errors. Details are forwarded via WiFi or mobile phone GSM data to a Home Office server which takes care of who should receive it and a confirmation email returned to the sender. It is also possible to send cancellations quickly at short notice. As a bonus the Border Force GAR app also has some weather facilities - it will fetch the tafs metars, and satellite pictures for the origin and destination as well as any airfield on its lists. A facility is available for downloading a weather cross section of the journey defined on the GAR showing cloud tops, icing and winds. This cannot be obtained anywhere else on the internet, now a demo version- free to download - activation gives access to all features but the demo should give a good idea of how the system works. With the demo you can use the log book, create a GAR but not send it or log it, view most of the wX. The specialist cloud top forecast is limited to only 4 forecasts.
